After requests from the community, finally the official release of ColdFusion Builder.

The ColdFusion Builder is the new Eclipse-based IDE for ColdFusion development is deeply integrated with ColdFusion 9 in addition to making it fast and easy for CF developers to create Flex applications with integration between ColdFusion Builder and Flash Builder.

Also released the Forum for ColdFusion Builder!

The Adobe also released the final version of the Flex SDK 4 and the IDE Flash Builder 4

Flex 4 – Including the new Spark skinning and component architecture enabling a new level of expressiveness in RIAs in addition to supporting the new Flash Catalyst to Flash Builder workflow.

Flash Builder 4 - There are over 90 new features in this release, and you can use them with both Flex 3 and Flex 4 to gain big improvements in development time, integration and building more expressive apps.

ColdFusion Builder is priced at $299 and comes with a copy of Flash Builder 4 Standard. Or, for $699 you can buy Flash Builder 4 Premium which also includes a copy of ColdFusion Builder.

The Inove Consulting Experts and BR Multimidia, Center Authorized Adobe, will jointly hold a major event involving ColdFusion and RIA in Brazil with great names of national and international community. The event is called the BR Conference 2010 - ColdFusion and RIA Connection, where we have issues involving ColdFusion, Flex, AIR, Flash Media Server, LiveCycle among others. I do not remember an event of this magnitude carried out here.

The new Adobe Cookbooks application is now live

This uber Adobe Cookbook application replaces the individual, product-specific cookbook applications that were previously in place for Flex, AIR and Mobile. The new application will still support those technologies, in addition to a dozen or so additional technologies, all within a single application. For those new to the cookbook applications, they are a searchable repository for community-generated code samples.

The new features include:

Many more products/technologies
Improved navigation and search
Recipe requests - for developers who can't find the code sample they are looking for
Related recipes - that appear in a side bar of all recipe pages
Cookbook Explorer - a visual display of top cookbook recipes and contributors
New contributor recognition features - profile pics, links to blogs, links to community profiles

Adobe Certified Expert Flex 3 with AIR, I am now!

Hi all,

On this last Thursday, 27/08, I made one more proof for the Certification to Adobe and I am the newest Adobe Certified in Flex 3 With AIR.

For those that are thinking about doing the proof I recommend attention to AIR with SQLite, Events and UML, integration with LiveCycle, Web Services, Messaging/Remote besides the Flex naturally.

Then start you preparation reading Adobe Flex 3: Adobe Flex 3: Training from the Source, Programming Flex 3 (O’Reilly), besides Livedocs Flex 3 and AIR and the simulator for AIR exam: http://www.pxldesigns.com/attest

Good, taking sequence, let’s go close the third part creating data base, the data source on CFAdmin is the beginning codification on Flex.

As database I am going to use MySQL 5x.

In the 1st part of this series we took a look a defining the project and in this part we can to dive in and setup our project. I will be using Flex builder for this project.

Adobe Flex Builder 3 or Adobe Flex Builder Plugin for Eclipse and Adobe ColdFusion 8

Note: This article uses the integrated LiveCycle Data Services that are installed with ColdFusion 8.

welcome 2009!

After reading the posts of Dan Vega, I decided to take a risk and to begin the year with a series of posts involving the integration between ColdFusion and LiveCycle Data Services.

It will be a small and simple application, but will have features as datapush and dataconflict.

In the moment I am working in this model:

The container of List of Users, with button Add user and combobox to filter for groups
The data grid will display the users and with the possibility to delete the user
The container of Edit Users with the cancelling button of updates and the button of save
Form fields to edit the user's data
Conflit information window

Initially it is this. I hope to help in some way and to learn more and any suggestion it is welcome.

I will get to work on part 2 on this weekend.

Sending e-mail with Flex and ColdFusion

To send e-mail with CF is very simple! With Flex it is not different. We will use the simple integration of Flex with CF to set up a contact form! We will use Remote Object Services to accomplish the connection between Flex and CF, through FlashRemoting that is already standard in CF 7 in before.
