ColdFusion 8 FCKeditor Vulnerability

There is a critical point in FCKeditor, who was announced some time, when detected in connectors ASP and PHP.

ASP - Exploiting IIS via HTMLEncode (MS08-006)

Now this vulnerability was detected in the version 8.0.1 of ColdFusion, the version 8.0 apparently does not suffer of this failure, but it is worth check.

The solutions:
1) Disable filemanager. In "CFIDE\scripts\ajax\FCKeditor\editor\filemanager\connectors\cfm\config.cfm"

Config.Enabled = false;

2) To be completely safe, delete the entire filemanager directory found under "CFIDE\scripts\ajax\FCKeditor\editor". The embedded version of FCKeditor for CF doesn't and really shouldn't use this feature. So removing those files completely is the safest thing to do. Be mindful that updates to CF might re-introduce those files and naturally re-open the problem.

In the 1st part of this series we took a look a defining the project and in this part we can to dive in and setup our project. I will be using Flex builder for this project.

Requirements

To complete this tutorial you will need to install the following software and files:

Adobe Flex Builder 3 or Adobe Flex Builder Plugin for Eclipse and Adobe ColdFusion 8

Note: This article uses the integrated LiveCycle Data Services that are installed with ColdFusion 8.

welcome 2009!

After reading the posts of Dan Vega, I decided to take a risk and to begin the year with a series of posts involving the integration between ColdFusion and LiveCycle Data Services.

It will be a small and simple application, but will have features as datapush and dataconflict.

In the moment I am working in this model:

The container of List of Users, with button Add user and combobox to filter for groups
The data grid will display the users and with the possibility to delete the user
The container of Edit Users with the cancelling button of updates and the button of save
Form fields to edit the user's data
Conflit information window

Initially it is this. I hope to help in some way and to learn more and any suggestion it is welcome.

I will get to work on part 2 on this weekend.

Adobe Community Expert, I am!

Since Thursday, August 28, I am the newest Adobe Community Expert with focus in ColdFusion! I could only now post, therefore it was awaiting the updating of my data and biography in the site of the Adobe!

For who doesn't know the program Community Experts of the Adobe, he is composed by users that possess a certain expertise level in their products, sharing like this their experiences with users.

Above all they are enthusiastic that develop works on behalf of the community in certain technology, publishing, evangelizing, finally collaborating for the spread of the technology.

Of my 10 years of TI, practically 7 are returned to ColdFusion. I can calmly say that since I met CF, all my works were with him. I really never needed to work with other technology, I always had the happiness of could choose and like this, I was always with the best choice!

Thanks the List CF-BRASIL where great names are for there sharing knowledge and here to the friends always, Lauro Santos, Pedro Cláudio, Paulo Teixeira, Guilherme Augusto besides my wife, daughter, family who understands my work well!! hehehehe

Being like this the works continues, and I hope to correspond more and more!

Today the ColdFusion commemorates 13 years of existence! Of these, has little more of the half in that I decided to work with CF and they can believe, no regret, no stress with customer due to him, on the contrary, I obtained recognition on the part of friends, family and customers! that they come more 13 years!! hauahahua look at the logos that Ben Forta posted!
